Enter the details of your deceased relative; following the method of the source work, the calculator will determine the prayer and fasting fidyah, the precautionary expiations, other debts and the dawr plan.
1 — Details of the Deceased
If the amount of debt is unknown, as a precaution the childhood years are deducted from the whole lifespan and the remainder is reckoned.
2 — Fidyah (Sadaqat al-Fitr) Rate
The fidyah of each prayer and of each day of fasting is one fitrah: 520 dirhams (1,666 grams) of wheat, or its value at the current market rate. In practice, the sadaqat al-fitr amount announced each year by your local religious authority may be taken as the basis.
3 — Expiations and Other Debts (optional)
The source work recommends that, after the dawr, one oath (yamin) expiation and one fasting (sawm) expiation be distributed to the poor as a precaution. The oath expiation is given as one fitrah each to 10 different poor persons.
4 — Money Available for the Dawr (optional)
Leave blank to calculate the fidyah totals only. The more money available, the shorter the dawr becomes.

Reminder: This calculation is for informational purposes and follows the method of the source work. Those who sit for the dawr must be sane, adult, upright and poor; the ascendants and descendants of the deceased (parents, grandparents, children and grandchildren) and the wealthy who possess the nisab may not take part. Before putting it into practice, we advise consulting a qualified religious scholar or your local religious authority.
